Congratulations to Toronto/Torontula/University of Toronto, who successfully defended their national title with an undefeated long weekend in Vancouver.
Toronto, who defeated Cinderella squad McMaster in the semis, defeated UBC's A team 15-11 in the final to capture national bragging rights. Making the trip across the country and defeating Vancouver's best college players might make title number two even sweeter than the first. In my opinion, it definitely takes away some of the intimidation factor for other east teams in future nationals.

- McMaster-(Yet another thriller 11-10 win over McGill in the 3rd place game)

- Alberta- Great Sunday for the Edmonton crew
- UBC B- A 6th place finish after being relegated to Saturday consolation play is solid
- Victoria- Definitely a fall from their original seed
- Queens- A tough weekend for the Mothership that will pay dividends in future years.
- Saskatchewan and Simon Fraser (TIE)
- Ottawa and UBC C (TIE)

Looking at the sweet new CUUC Open trophy (which has results going back to the mid 90s), it looks like the East is ahead 7-5 over the Western universities in championship wins. Just stirring the pot...
The 3-4 game was not much of a "thriller". Both teams were extremely tired from their respective semi-matchups and it was agreed that a shortened game would be played. Congrats to McMaster on grinding out the win. They played great all weekend and deserved it.
The finals were pretty exciting. The difference in the game was definitely Tolya on Toronto. UBC could not shut him down. He had one seemingly impossible grab against Eamonn on UBC that was fucking amazing. Near the end, UBC seemed to step it up. Morgan on UBC had one crazy awesome endzone D but it was a bit too late.
Other notes...
UVic had a few outstanding players. They gave us (McGill) two great games on the weekend and I expect them to be stronger at future CUUC's.
Lastly, I have to mention the Alberta-McGill power-pool game. At one point Alberta was up 10-3. McGill came back to win 13-11. Although I am clearly biased, this is possibly one of the greatest comeback wins I have ever seen.
Did the divisions have MVPs? Who were they?
